History
At 18 years-of-age, Steve Essex started as a carpenter’s apprentice. The rigorous standards and unwavering work ethic of his German employer taught him the value of hard work and precision; a lesson that stayed on with him for the rest of his career.
Soon after, Steve found himself building pole homes across Australia, followed by a full-time carpentry role on the Sunshine Coast. Later, Steve travelled to Cambridge to work on the prestigious Kings College where he restored the building’s incredible heritage features using only hand tools that he carried to work on the back of his bicycle. Upon returning to Australia, Steve and his wife Simone Essex launched SX Constructions.
OUR APPROACH
Our team’s eye-for-detail and meticulous approach are accredited to Steve’s life-long experience in construction. However, Simone’s marketing background has also played a formative role in the company’s success. Her ability to manage forward-thinking systems enables SX Constructions to deliver complex projects simultaneously without compromise. Moreover, her expertise in communicating with clients and stakeholders allows us to foster lasting partnerships. Without Steve or Simone, there would be no SX Constructions.
Today, our philosophy remains unchanged. Guided by your unique vision and our unrivalled understanding of the Sunshine Coast environment, our mission is to reimagine traditional concepts of luxury, integrating functional and architectural design.
